I’m Sōkei, a contemporary artist and Zen Buddhist teacher.

I reside, teach, and practice at Boundless Way Zen Temple, where I explore the connection between Zen and creativity.

I believe the creative process is a way to be fully present and engaged in life. My artwork is not just a product of my practice but an embodiment of it. It draws from the deep well of Zen teachings to explore and express what it means to be fully awake in each fleeting moment.

Through the transformative power of painting and collage, I strive to capture the ephemeral beauty of everyday existence. My work delves into the tentative, subtle, and evanescent nature of reality. Each piece reflects the teachings I've received and is an extension of my practice as a Dharma Holder with transmission in both the Sōto and Rinzai Zen lineages.
